Job summary

Northwest Health Porte in Indiana is seeking a PACS Administrator to oversee the Picture Archiving and Communication System, ensuring reliable operation, security, and patient privacy across imaging workflows. You will collaborate with IT, radiologists, and staff to maintain access, converge data, and support clinical teams.

Responsibilities include day-to-day system management, user access control, vendor coordination, training, and adherence to HIPAA and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in radiologic technology, information systems analysis, or database management.
• Proficiency in managing, troubleshooting, and configuring PACS hardware and software systems.
• Knowledge of radiographic technology and applications.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards including HIPAA and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Manages day-to-day operations of the PACS, including system maintenance, user access, troubleshooting, and data reconciliation.
• Serves as liaison between the facility, PACS vendors, radiologists, and other parties for updates, stability, and maintenance tasks.
• Provides user training and ongoing support for PACS-related applications and processes.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and supports quality and process improvement initiatives.
• Monitors system performance and escalates hardware/software issues to vendors as necessary.
• Investigates and proposes solutions to PACS operational challenges.
• Creates/modifies/deactivates user accounts to administer system access.
• Manages data storage, organization, and retrieval, ensuring data integrity and timely access to imaging records.
• Ensures HIPAA and data security compliance; collaborates with IT and clinical staff to integrate PACS with other hospital systems.
