Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Houston seeks a Supervisory Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to lead a team of advanced radiologic technologists in the PACS section and ensure daily operations run smoothly.

Qualifications

US citizenship required; non-citizens may be referred only when qualified citizens cannot be recruited.
ARRT certification in Radiography (R) is required.
Advanced ARRT certification for CT, MRI or Mammography duties performed independently.
Completion of a 24‑month post‑high school radiologic technology program; JRCERT accreditation preferred.
English language proficiency; strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience supervising technologists and mentoring staff.
GS‑11 level experience or equivalent related to the position.

Responsibilities

Supervise a group of advanced diagnostic radiologic technologists in the PACS section.
Oversee daily PACS operations, performance, stability and user support.
Develop and maintain procedures, safety practices, and staff training plans.
Coordinate with radiology administration and vendors for equipment maintenance and upgrades.
Prepare budget estimates and manage workload, staffing, and productivity.
