Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a clerical support professional for the Diagnostic Imaging Department at Rhode Island Hospital. You will handle requests for digital medical images, print and burn CDs, and file patient records while coordinating with physicians, attorneys, and outside entities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Typing and basic math skills required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and strong data organization skills.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate with patients, physicians, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical, filing, and record-keeping duties in support of the Diagnostic Imaging Department.
• Interacts daily with physicians, lawyers, other professionals, outpatients and family members.
• Uses Life Image to receive and push outside digital images to PACS for Radiologist/Technologist viewing.
• Prints films and burns CDs; retrieves films from offsite vendors as needed.
• Scans paperwork into LifeChart and tracks document destinations.
• Releases preliminary examination reports to authorized personnel.
• Answers the telephone representing the department in daily interactions.
• Maintains file room inventory and assists in onboarding new staff.
• Organizes and retrieves Diagnostic Imaging documents for presentations to radiologists and residents.
• Participates in monthly staff meetings and may train new employees.
