Job summary

Pennsylvania Courts is seeking a PACMS Analyst & User Support Specialist to serve as the liaison for the Superior Court, providing assistance to Judges and court departments in all PACMS-related matters.

The role involves supporting court staff, managing ticket resolution with the AOPC help desk, and ensuring accurate PACMS data and reporting. Telework may be available up to 2 days per week after training.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Compile and initiate ad hoc query requests from Judges and department heads and relay to AOPC.
  • Review PACMS query results, identify flaws in T-SQL, and request clarifications with examples.
  • Prepare data for Court Statistics Project and annual reports.
  • Maintain PACMS reports and data collection procedures for CSP.
  • Participate in meetings with Court personnel and AOPC staff on projects.
  • Develop queries for data requests not in standard reports and verify results.
  • Perform PACMS metadata maintenance to ensure accuracy and remove obsolete values.

Job description

The PACMS Analyst & User Support Specialist (also known as PACMS Analyst 2) serves as the liaison for the Superior Court, providing assistance to Judges and court departments in all PACMS-related matters. The role involves supporting court staff, managing ticket resolution with the AOPC help desk, and ensuring accurate PACMS data and reporting.

Typical Duties
  • Compile and initiate ad hoc query requests by Judges and department heads and communicate the request to AOPC.
  • Review and analyze query results in PACMS to determine flaws in the TSQL selection by AOPC; if data results appear inaccurate, return targeted questions to AOPC with examples.
  • Compile and review data for the Court Statistics Project (National Center for State Courts) and the annual statistical report.
  • Maintain PACMS reports and procedures for data collection for the CSP.
  • Participate in meetings and conference calls with Court personnel and AOPC staff on various projects.
  • Participate in statistical projects such as the Superior Court Annual Report, Caseload Highlights report, and the Court Statistics Project.
  • Participate in committees regarding Court statistics with Commonwealth and Supreme Courts.
  • Respond to requests for data not currently available in report form by developing queries, submitting to the AOPC helpdesk, and analyzing results for accuracy.
  • Perform regular PACMS metadata maintenance to ensure values are accurate and obsolete values are removed.
  • Identify and fully vet system enhancements with the Superior Court committee and communicate enhancement requirements to AOPC.
  • Identify PACMS reporting deficiencies and collaborate with the affected department to determine report requirements.
  • Provide AOPC with report definitions and specifications upon completed analysis.
  • Perform related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Previous court and PACMS experience preferred.
  • Fiscal or judicial clerk experience advantageous.
  • Satisfactory criminal background check required.
Salary Information

Starting Salary Range: $61,926-$81,568 (maximum salary of $101,209).

  • Thorough knowledge of and ability to operate PACMS.
  • Thorough knowledge of court procedures, policies, organization, and operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate and handle issues for Judges, chambers staff, and all administrative departments when PACMS issues arise.
  • Ability to maintain a variety of complex files and prepare reports from them.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to describe and explain technical situations to non-technical staff.
