Job summary

Kenworth Sales Co. in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Service Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on Lease and Rental vehicles across customer locations. The role requires welding experience, tool proficiency and CDL certification, with a pay range of $30–$40 per hour depending on experience.

DOT drug-free workplace; pre-employment drug screening is required. Primary duties include preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and maintaining service records as directed by the PacLease Service

Responsibilities

• Maintain maintenance and service records and forward to supervisor.
• Complete all training and safety certification programs including CDL.

Salary Minimum and Maximum: $30-$40Depending on experience!

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary function of the PacLease Service Technician is to perform routine maintenance services and repairs on Lease and Rental vehicles at various customer locations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs all preventive maintenance and servicing of fleet vehicles as directed by PacLease Service Manager/supervisor. Perform all regularly scheduled maintenance on a timely basis.
• Diagnoses mechanical, electrical or other service problems, determining necessary repairs. Reports recommended repairs and servicing to PacLease Service Manager/supervisor.
• Performs additional maintenance and/or repairs as directed by Service Manager/Supervisor.
• Operates Fleet vehicles as directed on daily basis, including test driving, delivering, fueling, and retrieving from customer locations.
• Generates maintenance and service records of fleet vehicles serviced, including fleet vehicle inspection and maintenance reports, and forwards to PacLease Service Manager/Supervisor in a timely manner.
• Completes all training, safety and certification programs required to ensure superior quality service, including CDL certification.
• Complies with departmental safety program, minimizing on‑the‑job injuries and providing superior safety record.
• Communicate with Department Manager, PacCentral, Customer and other department managers on a daily, weekly, monthly and as‑needed basis, regarding repair estimates, maintenance and service appointments, and complaints. Ensures timely, competent and courteous relations with PacLease customers. Promotes the sales of Leasing and Rentals.
• Assists PacLease Manager, PacLease Service Manager/Supervisor and other employees in the performance of their duties.
• Perform occasional maintenance and repair out of mobile service truck at customer’s locations. Ensure that work area is clean, no spills or garbage is left behind.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. High School Diploma or the equivalent. Excellent organization and communication skills. Working knowledge of truck repair and maintenance. Five years of experience as technician helper or apprentice in truck dealership. Manual dexterity. Personal motivation and self‑reliance. Ability to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safely. Experienced in MIG, Stick, aluminum welding and Oxy/Acetylene torch use. Hydraulic systems experience preferred. Driver’s License and good driving record.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This is a physically demanding position. Will stand six to eight hours per shift. Will stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle and feel. Will lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Will use hand and power tools, hoist and test equipment. Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
