Job summary

Kenworth Sales Co. is seeking a Service Technician to join our Ogden, UT team. The primary function is to perform high-quality repairs on customer equipment and make recommendations for further service as determined by the Technician.

Schedule is 1pm-10pm with a salary range of $25-$45 per hour. This position involves a physically demanding environment and requires 2-3 years of heavy truck repair experience, a valid driver’s license, and strong English reading/writing abilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in medium and/or heavy truck repair and maintenance.
• Outstanding mechanical aptitude and skills.
• Driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information.

Responsibilities

• Receive repair order assignments from Shop Foreman.
• Follow instructions and complete work thoroughly and efficiently.
• Maintain high workmanship standards.
• Advise Shop Foreman of recommended changes.
• Determine additional repairs and communicate to Shop Foreman.
• Maintain training with equipment and servicing techniques.
• Attend required training sessions.
• Perform additional repairs as needed if workmanship is at fault.
• Keep accurate work order records and time clocked.

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary function of the Service Technician is to perform superior quality repairs to customer equipment and make recommendations for further services as determined by the Technician during service.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Receives repair order assignments from Shop Foreman
• Follows instructions and executes work assignments in repair order thoroughly and efficiently.
• Maintains superior standard of workmanship in all services performed.
• Advises Shop Foreman of any recommended changes in services ordered by the customer
• Determines if any further repairs or servicing should be recommended to the customer, and communicates such recommendations to the Shop Foreman
• Maintains a level of training and experience with specialized equipment, machinery, and servicing techniques necessary for superior servicing of the customer’s equipment
• Attends training sessions as required by the Service Manager
• Performs additional repairs as required when any piece of equipment is returned by the customer because of the Technician’s faulty workmanship
• Maintains accurate work order records of work performed and time clocked on jobs.

Qualifications

Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in medium and/or heavy truck repair and maintenance. Outstanding mechanical aptitude and skills necessary to produce top results. Driver’s license and clean driving record. Personal motivation and self-reliance. Manual dexterity. Ability to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safely. Excellent organization and communication skills. High school diploma or the equivalent. Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information

Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding position. Will stand six to eight hours per shift. Will stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle and feel. Will lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Will use hand and power tools, hoist and test equipment. Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
