Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking candidates for a manufacturing associate role on the Georgia production floor. The position includes trimming, inspecting, and packing containers or parts on line 1, handling waste and rework duties, and ensuring quality by monitoring line output and reporting defects.

Responsibilities also cover operating auxiliary equipment, filling out required documentation, and maintaining cleanliness and safety as part of daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Trim, inspect and pack containers or parts on line 1.
• Take the 95-gallon trash cans on the production floor to the compactor for emptying and return them to the floor after emptying.
• Inspect and pack bottles on assigned lines, repack area or during rework activities.
• Monitor production for quality defects and promptly inform the operator and/or supervisor of any issues.
• Apply tickets to finished packages.
• Read and understand the job discrete pick list and ensure compliance on assigned line.
• Fill in required data on exception reports and pack/inspection sheets as required.
• Start, stop, reset and clear jams on auxiliary equipment (bottle conveyors, labelers, box maker, flame treater, leak tester, etc.).
• Complete housekeeping duties in areas of responsibility.
• Complete safety observation forms and report hazards as necessary.
• Participate in monthly safety and/or quality meetings.
• Adhere to Silgan safety policies.
• Empty reject bins and grind scrap as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
