Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking a production worker to trim, inspect, and pack containers on the designated production line. The role includes transporting and emptying 95-gallon cans, monitoring quality, and documenting outcomes. You will also operate and troubleshoot line equipment, maintain housekeeping, and participate in safety and quality meetings.

The position emphasizes following safety policies, accuracy in packaging, and readiness to perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• Willing to participate in safety and quality meetings.

Responsibilities

• Trim, inspect and pack containers or parts on line 1.
• Take 95-gallon trash cans to the compactor for emptying and return them to the production floor.
• Inspect and pack bottles on assigned lines, repack area or during rework activities.
• Monitor production for quality defects and promptly inform the operator or supervisor of issues.
• Apply tickets to finished packages and read the job pick list to ensure compliance on the assigned line.
• Fill in required data on exception reports and pack/inspection sheets as required.
• Start, stop, reset and clear jams on auxiliary equipment such as bottle conveyors, sleeve labeler, box maker, labeler, flame treater, leak tester, etc.
• Complete assigned housekeeping duties and report hazards; participate in safety meetings.
• Adhere to Silgan safety policies and empty reject bins and grind scrap as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
