Job summary

Chemours in DeLisle, MS is seeking Packing Technicians to operate and maintain equipment for collecting and packaging dry pigment and conveying material for end-of-line pickup. You will work with packers, conveyors, printers, and palletizers, upholding safety standards and cleanliness.

This role requires a High School diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, 12-hour rotating shifts, and ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

Qualifications

This position will be available at the DeLisle, MS location and will report directly to the Packing & Finishing First Line Supervisor. This role will perform all functions associated with operating and maintaining equipment used to collect dry pigment, package dry pigment, and convey material for end of line pick up. Must be able to maintain safety standards at all times, initiating and following emergency procedures when necessary. Monitors and operates equipment and facilities; including field equipment that ensures quality and conformance with standard operating procedures. Interfaces with equipment through electronic screens; performs minor maintenance activities; monitors and operates product collection, packaging, and conveying systems; and blends back packaged material. Must maintain high standards for cleanliness, operating discipline, and machine capability, ensuring equipment and facilities are continually safe to operate and ready for customer visits. Safe and proper handling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in compliance with plant requirements and environmental regulations. **The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:**· Operate hand tools, manual valves, feed screws, blowers, automatic packers, sealers, conveyors, printers, palletizers, presses, stretch wrap machines, pallet inverters, balers, pallet lifts, hoists, forklift trucks, and other mobile equipment.· Perform lock, tag, and try to de-energize equipment.· Troubleshoots and performs basic maintenance on equipment to resolve issues and restore process operation using mechanical knowledge, equipment specification sheets and manufacturer literature.· Conducts preventative maintenance and proactively identifies and submits work notifications for future planned maintenance needs.· Completes operator rounds multiple times per shift, adjusting as needed.· Routinely completes housekeeping tasks.· Continually works to improve the area, meeting business, site, and area goals.· Lift up to 55 lbs. multiple times per shift.· Climbs multiple flights of stairs per shift.· Changes out filter bags. **The following is required for this role:**· High School diploma or GED equivalent· Current, valid driver’s license· Willing and able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, and overtime as required.· Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respiratory as required.· Basic computer skills· Possess a mechanical aptitude and able to demonstrate troubleshooting and planning skills. **The following is preferred for this role:**· Previous experience as an operator in an industrial, chemical, or manufacturing environment· Completion of 2-year Maintenance-related Technical program **OR** 2-years of Maintenance experience **OR** one of the following (4) NCCER certifications: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, Industrial Maintenance Electrical & Instrumentation, Electrical, or Instrumentation. **Benefits:**Competitive CompensationComprehensive Benefits Packages401(k) MatchEmployee Stock Purchase ProgramTuition ReimbursementLearning and Development OpportunitiesStrong Inclusion and Diversity InitiativesCompany-paid Volunteer DayAt Chemours, you will find sustainability in our vision, our business and your future.
