Job summary

Gotham Greens in Stevensburg, VA is seeking Production Assistants to join our growing urban greenhouse network. These hands-on roles require physical work, reliability and the ability to maintain quality in a fast-paced environment.

You will pack, sort, weigh, label and stage produce, and assist with greenhouse tasks including transplanting and harvesting. We value sustainability, teamwork and a strong work ethic across all shifts.

Qualifications

• Be authorized to work in the US.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Stand for a full 8-hour shift.
• Maintain a steady pace with attention to detail.
• Reliable form of transportation.
• Open availability to work various schedules including holidays and weekends.
• Work in environments with temperatures 55–90°F.

Responsibilities

• Pack containers of fresh produce.
• Sort and select high-quality product to pack.
• Identify unacceptable quality product to discard.
• Fill containers to an accurate weight using scales.
• Handle product properly to maximize shelf life and appearance.
• Assist greenhouse production: transplanting, harvesting, and equipment handling.
• Label, box, and stage product materials and supplies.
• Follow GMP, GAP, SSOPs and sanitation procedures; assist with cleaning.

Production Assistant positions are hands-on and require individuals who enjoy rolling up their sleeves and are accustomed to manual labor-intensive jobs.Prior experience in the natural and organic food industry is a plus but not required.
