Job summary

Gotham Greens is seeking a hands-on Packhouse Lead to supervise daily packing and inventory for fresh produce. The role requires rallying a team, maintaining morale, and ensuring efficient operation, including weekend work. Experience in natural/organic foods is a plus but not required.

You will collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, and Distribution to ensure product quality, accurate weight packing, and proper storage. This is a full-time on-site role.

Qualifications

• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Able to stand for an 8-hour shift.
• Maintain a steady pace with attention to detail.
• Reliable transportation.
• Open availability for various schedules including holidays and weekends.
• Ability to work in temperatures from 55°F to 95°F.

Responsibilities

• Packing containers of fresh produce and sorting quality product.
• Identifying unacceptable quality product to discard.
• Filling containers to an accurate weight using scales.
• Handling product and containers to maximize shelf life and appearance.
• Performing repetitive tasks at a consistent pace to meet productivity expectations.
• Assisting Greenhouse Production operations (transplanting seedlings, harvesting plants, handling equipment).
• Handling, organizing, and loading production supplies and equipment.
• Assisting with inventory control and cold storage organization.
• Labelling, boxing, and staging product materials and supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.

THE ROLEThe Packhouse (PH) Lead will be responsible for day-to-day supervision of the Packhouse production and inventory management. The PH Lead reports directly to the Packhouse Supervisor and works in collaboration with our Sales, Customer Service, Logistics and Distribution team. This is a hands-on role requiring an individual that is a true leader, can rally a team, maintain a positive morale and work environment, and ensure a smooth efficiently run operation. This is a full- time working lead role and will require an individual who is willing to roll up their sleeves and get dirty, and work weekends. ‘Prior experience in the natural and organic food industry a plus but not required.
