Job summary

Responsibilities include start-ups, changeovers, packaging on pallets, recording output, and maintaining sanitation around equipment. Training provided; growth opportunities exist within a worker-owned, long-established company.

Qualifications

• Past packaging or machine operation experience preferred.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and handle repetitive motions.
• Willing to work any shift and follow GMP and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist in safe start-ups at the beginning of each shift.
• Perform prompt start-ups, shutdowns and changeovers between products.
• Stack or pack product into cartons or onto pallets neatly.
• Record production output and downtime accurately.
• Maintain sanitation around machines following plant GMPs.
• Adhere to SQF and food safety requirements.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervision.

We are seeking a Packer/Stacker - 1st Shift to assist in the set up and maintain proper machine operation while maintaining the best quality possible for retail packages.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Primary responsibilities of a Packer/Stacker are to:

• Assist in the safe start-ups at the beginning of each shift. Think safety.
• Assist in conducting prompt start-ups, timely shutdowns, and precise changeovers from one product to another.
• Stack or Pack product off the line into cartons or onto pallets in a neat and uniform manner.
• Recording accurate production output and downtime as advised.
• Maintain proper sanitation around machines according to plant GMP’s.
• Follow all SQF and Food Safety requirement.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel, possibly including, but not limited to, breakout, stacking and cleaning.

Essential Functions

• Strong attendance and good safety/sanitation history.
• Self-motivated and responsible.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
• Willing to work any shift if required.
• Bending to lift cases to be loaded and stacked on pallets.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of finished product.
• Possess some mechanical ability; previous machine operator experience required.
