Job summary

Kimball Midwest is hiring a 1st shift packer in our Columbus, OH distribution center. You will set up scale, package parts, inspect quality and affix labels, and maintain production pace in a climate-controlled environment.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, reading/writing simple data, following instructions, and working Monday–Friday, 5:30am–2:00pm. We offer health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) with match, paid time off and more.

• Must be able to concentrate and follow instructions from management.

Responsibilities

• Package parts and set up scale to achieve correct box weight.
• Lift, carry and pack boxes up to 50 pounds.
• Affix labels and pack boxes onto shelves.
• Visually inspect merchandise for quality and defects and document quality standards.

Job description

Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair and operation products, is searching for a 1st shift packer in our Columbus, Oh distribution center.

Responsibilities:

• Packaging parts:
• Sets up scale machine for proper weight of box being packaged
• Lifts waist to waist and carries up to 50 pounds
• Fills box with parts until proper weight is indicated and affixes labels to boxes
• Packs boxes onto shelf boxes
• Visually inspects all merchandise for quality and checks for any defects or bad plating.
• Accurately packages merchandise while maintaining a high production level.
• Documents quality standards including product accuracy, labeling quality, and country of origin accuracy.

Qualifications:

• This position requires the ability to read and write small letters and numbers; the ability to make arithmetic calculations; and the ability to follow and understand written and oral instructions.
• This position requires the ability to concentrate and to communicate with management and co-workers.
• This position requires the ability to lift objects weighing fifty (50) pounds waist to waist.
• This position requires the ability to push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds.
• This position requires the ability to walk and stand on concrete floors for long periods of time.
• This position requires the ability to frequently bend and twist the back.
• This position requires the ability to finely manipulate and grip objects.
• This position requires the ability to squat and reach.

Additional Information:

This position pays $20 per hour. Plus $200 BONUS opportunities

The hours are Monday-Friday, 5:30am-2pm.
