Job summary

Sealed Air Corporation in Romeoville, IL is seeking an Inspector/Packer for the night shift (3:00 PM–1:00 AM, Monday–Friday). You will inspect and pack bags to meet quality specs, follow SOPs and safety rules, and work with Quality and Maintenance to optimize the line.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, manufacturing experience, ability to read measurements, stand for long periods, and basic computer skills. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred. Competitive benefits are offered.

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Experience using pallet jacks and machine hoists is a plus.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow all SOPs and safety rules, including PPE and clutter control.
• Inspect and pack bags to meet the bag specifications and quality standards.
• Monitor scrap, efficiency, and product quality on the line.
• Ensure counts per bag specification and proper packaging.
• Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance and technical teams to resolve line issues.
• Complete all documentation accurately and promptly.

Schedule:3:00 PM to 1:00 AM; Monday - Friday
Pay Rate: $23.95
Shift Premium: $1.00

Position Overview:

The Inspector/Packer is responsible for inspecting and packing bags to safely deliver the highest quality products at the best efficiency and lowest scrap possible using effective manufacturing methods. Inspector/Packer personnel report to the Shift Leader.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Follow all Key Operating Procedures, including but not limited to:
• Company and facility Policies
• Safety – LTCT; use of proper PPE; adherence to all applicable safety rules
• Quality – PQCT, Bag Specifications, Testing Frequencies and Procedures
• SOPs – Methods for performing work
• SSOP/Good Housekeeping standards (keep machines and area sanitized and clean)
• Good Manufacturing Practices
• Food/Safety Security
• HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)

• Food Regulatory and Customer Specifications
• Responsible for scrap, efficiency, and product quality
• Responsible for ensuring that box and tote counts are accurate as per the bag specification
• Learn to pack all bag specifications and at all machines
• Assist and work closely with Quality, Maintenance, and technical resources to ensure that issues are being addressed to optimize the performance of the line.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improvements
• Communicate positively and respectfully to resolve all issues
• Complete all documentation accurately
• Other responsibilities and projects as assigned
