Job summary

Amcor LLC is seeking a packaging associate for a 12-hour rotating shift. You will visually inspect products, pack quality items into boxes per traveler instructions, and promptly segregate non-conforming lots for scrap. You must read travelers, verify labels, and maintain a clean work area with proper PPE.

The role emphasizes safety and strict adherence to Amcor's guidelines. Responsibilities include following packaging instructions, operating assigned machines for lids/containers, and reporting

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift 35 pounds overhead.
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for 12 hours per day.
  • Ability to read the traveler and complete paperwork.
  • Must wear PPE such as safety glasses, ear plugs, bump caps, beard/hair nets, and steel-toed shoes.
  • Safety-conscious and able to report issues.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare packaging per traveler instructions.

  • Follow food safety responsibilities and notify management of issues.

Job DescriptionEnsuring my safety and the safety of my co-workers is a core value and is my number one priority.Visually inspect product and identify product non-conformities.Pack quality product into boxes, according to customer specifications and Berry quality guidelines.Immediately place non-conforming product into the scrap bins as soon as it is found.Read travelers and compare labels for accuracy.Prepare packaging in accordance with traveler instructions.Repetitive motion work with hands.Communicate questions regarding quality with necessary personnel.Maintain a clean and organized work station.Must be able to read the traveler and complete paperwork.Pack lids or containers from any assigned machine.Knows which supplies are needed each day and where to get them.Report any safety concerns or problems to the Group Leader.Staff are informed and held accountable for their food safety and regulatory responsibilities;Staff are positively encouraged and required to notify management of actual or potential food safety issues; andStaff are empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work.Make boxes, as necessaryEDUCATIONAL, SKILL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.Lifting Requirements - Ability to lift 35 pounds over head.Walking/Standing-Requirements ability to walk and or stand for 12 hours per day.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.At a minimum, the environment requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment such as: safety glasses, ear plugs, bump caps, beard/hair nets, and steel toed shoes.
