Job description

Position Title: Packer

Location: Global Meals, Bedford Heights, OH

Salary: $15.00/hr

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 am - 2:00 pm (Daylight)

THE POSITION

• Responsible for packing meals, accompaniments, and other items as directed according to a consumer’s care plan.
• Fulfill all prescribed “Daily Work Tasks” as instructed by the Warehouse Manager and/or supervisor.
• When needed and directed by the Warehouse Manager and/or supervisor, assist with loading meals into delivery vehicles.
• Help with meal counts and secure food for any necessary changes.
• Assist in receiving, warehousing, and distributing meals as required.
• Ensure product quality by reviewing expiration dates and reporting expired items to the Warehouse Manager.
• Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping regulations by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on necessary actions.
• Monitor food temperatures daily during storage and packing for delivery.
• Assist with inventory management by conducting physical counts and reconciling with the data storage system.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary warehouse, keeping the work area free from trash and cardboard at all times.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Global Meals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work is primarily performed in a warehouse setting with varying temperatures, constant moderate noise, and occasionally tight spaces. Work is conducted in close proximity to others.
