Job summary

SnackCraft is seeking a packaging operator to ensure final product integrity and correct placement in pallets, trays, or boxes per customer specifications.

Responsibilities include GMP and HACCP compliance, product handling in a packaging work-cell, and maintaining equipment and documentation with a focus on quality and safety. High School Diploma or GED is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in food packaging or manufacturing is a plus.
  • Ability to lift 5–15 pounds and stand for extended periods may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Follows Company, GMP and Safety policies to ensure HACCP compliance.
  • Performs product handling in a packaging work-cell (stacking, counting, packaging, sealing, boxing).
  • Verifies dates, weight, and appearance against client specifications.
  • Ensures trays, pallets and boxes meet standards and maintains cleanliness in packaging area.
  • Maintains operation of bagging equipment and coordinates with packing/stacking team for breaks.
  • Maintains documentation accuracy and follows OSHA safety regulations.

Description

Responsible for the overall handling of final product ensuring all product leaves the plant, correctly placed in pallets, trays or boxes in compliance with customer specifications.

Work Environment

This job operates in a food production and warehouse setting. The floor surface is concrete. The noise level is moderate with no vibration. Material movement takes place throughout the facility.

Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift 5-15 pounds and work on their feet, while using tools to perform repetitive actions
  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling moderately heavy objects as assigned by position.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate bagging equipment.
  • Reaching overhead, above shoulders and horizontally.
  • Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching.
  • Seeing to monitor food quality and quantity.
  • The ability to stand and walk for an entirety of a shift.

Core Responsibilities
  • Follows Company, GMP and Safety policies to ensure compliance with the HACCP program, AIB and other regulatory requirements.
  • Follows all food safety, Food Defense principles and legal requirements.
  • Performs all product handling activities in a packaging work-cell (i.e. stacking, counting, packaging, sealing, put bags in trays or boxes).
  • Verifies code dates, sealing, product weight, and product appearance, is within specified parameters and conform to clients’ expectations.
  • Ensures trays, pallets and/or boxes are within standards.
  • Verifies equipment is in good working condition; communicates to management any deficiencies noted.
  • Performs visual inspection of product ensuring quality is acceptable.
  • May assist in the training of new personnel.
  • Maintain bagging machine operation for efficiency.
  • Coordinate with packing/stacking team for break relief.
  • Maintain order and cleanliness in packaging area.
  • Integrity in accuracy in documentation.
  • NetSuite scanning materials to work orders.
  • Follow OSHA Safety Regulation and Safety Rules.
  • Report safety concerns to management or Safety Committee.

Education and Experience: High School Diploma/ GED preferred
