Position Title: Packer
Wage: $19.25/hour
Shift: D Shift Nights (Training on Day Shift)
Hours: 7:00pm-7:00am Thursday-Saturday (Every other Wednesday) (Training 6:45am-5:30pm)
Looking for a fast-paced manufacturing position where you can stay active and be part of a team? We're hiring Packers to package finished products, build and stack boxes, prepare pallets, inspect products for quality, and keep production moving! Packer Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Pack finished products as they come off the production machine according to quality standards
- Stack products into boxes to meet required box counts
- Close, tape, and label boxes for shipment
- Stack completed boxes onto pallets following the required pallet pattern (3 boxes across and 6 layers high), tying or securing each layer as needed
- Arrive before the start of each shift for shift change and remain until properly relieved
- Inspect equipment after breaks and verify products meet quality specifications
- Monitor product flow to prevent scrap, machine jams, and production downtime
- Report equipment, quality, or safety concerns promptly and activate the help board when needed
- Communicate production issues to the appropriate personnel
- Sort and recycle scrap material according to company procedures
- Support the Quality Assurance team by providing defect samples and holding suspect products for inspection
- Read and follow shop orders and production instructions accurately
- Manage time effectively and assist in other production areas as needed
- Cross-train in other production positions and assist with training new employees when qualified
Packer Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or molding environment is a plus
- Lift and stack boxes (up to 50 pounds)
- Place skids/pallets from ground to 35-55 inches high
- Frequently sit, twist, stand, stoop, bend, and walk, including occasional ladder climbing
- Stand for 8-12 hours per shift
- Push/pull up to 750 pounds using manual pallet jacks (80 pounds push/pull force)
- Hear machine sirens and alarms
- Verify job specs, including colors and designs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to different machines and processes
