Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking an on-site manufacturing associate in Seymour, CT, to support packaging line operations and ensure product safety and quality. The role involves operating equipment, handling materials, and performing housekeeping to maintain a clean, efficient line.

Responsibilities include monitoring for defects, labeling, boxing, ticketing, and assisting the supervisor with additional line duties. Must be able to lift 30–40 lb and follow all safety procedures on the line.

• Willingness to operate packaging line equipment and assist with line duties.

• Initial and date box labels.
• Make out unit tickets.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
• Ability to lift 30–40 lb materials.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Has a fundamental responsibility to ensure product safety and quality as it applies to all duties listed below.
• Promote a safe working environment
• Understands and adheres to all Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers
• Monitor ware for quality defects and promptly inform the operator and/ or the coordinator.
• Pack at standard rate.
• Operate a punch.
• Load conveyors and flamers.
• Practice housekeeping on assigned line(s) and around machine including mopping if necessary.
• Remove scrap from around the line.
• Grind and pull plastic as needed.
• Make and unitize cartons as assigned.
• Initial and date box labels.
• Make out unit tickets.
• Do any other work assigned by the Supervisor.
• Ability to work with 30-40 lb. materials
