Job summary

Hain Celestial Group, Inc. seeks a Packer to support high-speed packaging of finished goods in a food manufacturing setting. You will set up packaging lines, verify labeling and counts, and help keep areas clean and compliant with GMP standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic math skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. This is a full-time, on-site position with competitive starting wages and benefits.

  • Manual dexterity to handle boxes, bags, and cases.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds on an intermittent basis.
  • Understand basic SQF and food safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Set up boxes, bags, and containers for product packaging.
  • Ensure correct labeling, orientation, and count in each case.
  • Maintain a safe, sanitary shift environment and perform cleanup.
  • Report food safety and quality issues and take necessary action.

Job Description

Overview/Purpose:

The packer wraps or unwraps the product into a final, customer-ready container or a work-in-process container for further processing as required. Retail containers usually get packed into a case of specific count following the initial wrapping stage.

To assure that finished packaged goods are inserted into proper cartons/containers.

Tasks are to be completed while maintaining the highest safety, food safety and quality, cost, and GMP standards in a high-speed manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sets up boxes and or bags or containers in preparation for the placement of unwrapped finished products or unwrapped bulk material for further processing.
  • Ensure containers are correctly labeled and items are oriented per specification.
  • Maintains proper count of pieces and number of containers packed in a case.
  • Applies special notes for container integrity and the specified placement code date or other labels or markings.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary environment during the shift and will perform clean-up duties at the close of the shift.
  • Responsible for reporting food safety and quality issues and initiating action as necessary.

Qualifications

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Possess manual dexterity to manipulate boxes, bags, and cases.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds to shoulder height on an intermittent basis.
  • Possess basic math calculation skills
  • Understanding of basic principles of the SQF program and other food safety policies/procedures

Compensation and Benefits:

  • New starting wage is $16.00 / hour (commensurate with experience and location). *Note that rate could change based on a shift schedule.
