Description

Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career-driven, and customer-focused team and is currently recruiting for a Packer - 3rd shift to work at our manufacturing facility in Goodyear, AZ.

As a Packer, this candidate will be responsible for inspecting finished products prior to bagging and placing the bagged products into boxes, cases, and displays. The Packer will also help ensure the plant environment meets food safety and cleanliness standards and operates according to established safety protocols. Shift hours are Monday through Friday, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM.

Key Responsibilities

• Packs bags of chips into cartons.
• Assembles cartons, applies stickers, and packs cases according to specifications while verifying the quality of the finished product.
• Performs visual inspections of chips and chip packages, alerting machine operators or supervisors to any issues.
• Performs rework as needed.
• Identifies and removes defective product from lines.
• Performs daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation tasks.
• Maintains GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
• Follows all safety guidelines.
• Maintains proper housekeeping standards.
• Handles lunch and work breaks.
• Trains new packers.
• Works proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups.
• Responsible for quality and food safety tasks related to their position.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Basic reading and math skills.
• Knowledge of product quality and basic operations, acquired through training.
• Ability to communicate production issues effectively.
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions in a physically demanding position.
