Job summary

Dewey’s Bakery, Inc. in Winston-Salem, NC, is hiring a full-time Packer for the 3rd shift (8 hour shifts 9:45pm-6:15am).

This role supports production by packaging finished goods, following GMP rules, and performing quality checks to ensure product safety and freshness. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and the ability to read instructions and work safely in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Follows the GMP rules of facility and all SBC policies and SOPs.
• Ensures all product meets SBC and customer-related food safety and quality standards and notifies supervisor of any concerns.
• Properly performs metal detector checks; ability to conduct quality checks, if needed.
• Ensures that product that falls on the floor is thrown away immediately.
• Packages and moves finished product; packs product in tubs in the event of a breakdown.
• Completes any applicable computerized and paper documentation.
• If labels are added to packaging, ensure that all instructions are followed.
• Maintains awareness of temperature and humidity in packing areas and notifies the supervisor of any concerns.
• Inspects the quality of the primary and secondary packaging ensuring that all seals are secure and all packaging is in good condition. If product is re-packaged, follow all food safety standards.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
• Has the ability to communicate with co-workers and management in a respectful and effective manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
