Job summary

The Hershey Company in Plymouth, IN is hiring for a Packer responsible for visually inspecting, packing, and sanitation activities in the production area. The role involves operating scales, weighing bags, and following GMPs to ensure quality.

Day or night shifts are available with a $1.00/hr differential for overnight shifts. Bi-weekly pay, 401(k) and PTO are offered as part of total rewards. Qualified applicants will undergo background checks and drug screens.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old at time of hire.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• 1-month experience or training in related field.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect and manually pack bags of product into boxes.
• Maintain 5S and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
• Weigh one bag per case and set up scales for bag, bulk, or tote weights.
• Recognize and report product quality issues and cover bulk lines as needed.
• Clean and organize the packing area using approved chemicals and PPE as applicable.
• Perform shut down, start up, and changeover procedures and rework product as needed.
