Job summary

The Hershey Company in Plymouth, IN is seeking a Packaging Machine Operator to setup, oversee and maintain packaging lines, ensuring product quality and GMP compliance. The role includes sanitation tasks and basic maintenance, with a 12-hour night shift schedule.

You will operate and troubleshoot packaging equipment, follow safety rules, and collaborate with bakers, leads, packers, and supervisors. Starting pay is $23.33/hour with a $1 night differential; benefits begin on day one.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form.
• Must pass FSQS PMO Skills and Knowledge Assessment test and PMO Training checklist.
• Understand how to safely operate packaging machinery and use hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Follow GMPs.
• Check gram weight on Ishida operation terminal.
• Operate packaging machines and perform setup/teardown.
• Complete required paperwork and records.
• Conduct hourly metal detector checks and report findings.
• Maintain a clean work area and machine surroundings.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors.
