Job summary

KIK Consumer Products is hiring for a Packer 1 - 2nd Shift in Westlake, LA. You will package pool chemical products and ensure quality at the end of the line, with training provided. The role starts at $22/hour plus shift differentials, and progression to Packer 2 is possible within six months.

Work includes manual packaging, labeling, and maintaining safety, quality, and inventory records in a GMP manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No minimum years of experience required; training provided.
• Experience in manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, or production is preferred.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Package pool chemical products into containers, pails, buckets, bags, cartons, and other approved packaging materials
• Inspect products and packaging components for quality, accuracy, and defects before and during packaging operations
• Apply labels, lot codes, date codes, and regulatory markings according to product specifications
• Verify correct product, packaging materials, and quantities are used for each production run
• Operate packaging equipment, conveyors, palletizers, shrink-wrap machines, labelers, and related equipment as trained
• Monitor packaging lines for proper operation and report equipment malfunctions to supervisors or maintenance personnel
• Stack, wrap, and prepare finished goods for warehouse storage or shipment
• Complete production, quality, and inventory documentation accurately and in a timely manner
• Perform line clearances and housekeeping activities to maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all safety procedures regarding hazardous chemicals, PPE, lockout/tagout, and emergency response
• Participate in inventory counts and material reconciliation activities as assigned.
• Assist with changeovers, setup, and cleaning of packaging equipment
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency
• Performs other duties and assignments as directed by supervisor
• Assist other Dry B Operators as needed

Your Role at KIK

The Packer 1 - 2nd Shift (1:00 pm - 9:30 pm - Monday - Friday with some weekends per business need) supports daily operations by packaging finished product accurately and to specification at the end of the production line.This position operates in a chemical manufacturing environment and requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), hazardous material handling procedures, and company safety policies. No prior manufacturing experience is required — training is provided.

This position has a base starting hourly rate of $22.00 per hour. Shift differentials apply in addition to the base rate: $0.50 per hour for second shift and $1.00 per hour for third shift. Packers are trained up to the Packer 2 level within six months, which carries a base rate of 23.00 per hour.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or GED required.

• No minimum years of experience required. We train.

• Manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, or production experience (Preferred).

• Chemical manufacturing experience (Preferred).

• Prior work in a role with a production target or throughput standard (Preferred).

• Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and respond to call-outs as required to support continuous manufacturing operations.

• Ability to safely wear required personal protective equipment for extended periods.

• Ability to perform basic math calculations and complete production records.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, established procedures, work rules, and company standards.

• Strong attention to detail and quality.

• Ability to work safely around chemicals and manufacturing equipment.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including a functional capacity assessment and drug screening.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts.

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently.

• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb stairs, and perform repetitive motions.

• Ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity levels, and manufacturing environments.

• Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods.
