Your Role at KIK

The Lead Press Operator 2 nd Shift 1:00 pm – 9:30 pm – Monday – Friday with some weekends per business need operates high-speed tablet press equipment and owns the production run from setup through completion. This position operates in a chemical manufacturing environment and requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), hazardous material handling procedures, and company safety policies.

This position has a base starting hourly rate of $25.50 per hour. Shift differentials apply in addition to the base rate: $0.50 per hour for second shift and $1.00 per hour for third shift.

What You’ll Do

  • Operate high-speed tablet press equipment for scheduled production runs.

  • Monitor output against specification and act when the process drifts.

  • Coordinate with the Forklift Operator on the handling and distribution of materials for each tableting run.

  • Complete production, quality, material weights, usage data, and inventory documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and elevate appropriately.

  • Follow all safety procedures regarding hazardous chemicals, personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout, and emergency response.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.

  • Assist other Operators as needed.

  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed by supervisor.

What You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Previous operator experience (Preferred).

  • Manufacturing or production experience (Preferred).

  • Tablet press or pharmaceutical manufacturing experience (Preferred).

  • Experience operating pill press equipment (Preferred).

  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (Preferred).

  • Experience with filling lines or powder processing (Preferred).

  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to understand and follow directions, established procedures, work rules, and company standards.

  • Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and respond to call‑outs as required to support continuous manufacturing operations.

  • Ability to safely wear required personal protective equipment, including a Tyvek suit, for extended periods.

  • Capable of wearing an SCBA or negative‑pressure respirator.

  • Ability to perform basic math calculations and complete production records.

  • Strong attention to detail and quality.

  • Ability to work safely around chemicals and manufacturing equipment.

  • Must successfully pass all pre‑employment requirements, including a functional capacity assessment and drug screening.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts.

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently.

  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb stairs, and perform repetitive motions.

  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity levels, and manufacturing environments.

  • Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods.
