Job summary

Schonbek, a premium lighting brand and a member of The WAC Group, is seeking a Packer on the 1st shift (Monday–Friday) in Town of Plattsburgh, NY. The role involves packing lighting fixtures by following established procedures to meet the production schedule in a team environment.

Responsibilities include ensuring a safe workspace, performing final quality inspections, reading blueprints, using packing materials and diagrams, and assisting with assembly when needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency preferred.
• Prior Manufacturing Experience a plus.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to work 6:30am - 3:00pm, Monday - Friday, and overtime as needed.
• Must have a reliable attendance record.

Job description

Schonbek, a premium lighting brand and a member of The WAC Grou is looking for a Packer, 1st shift, Monday - Friday. This position will pack lighting fixtures by adhering to procedures that have been established, to meet the production schedule in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment, and systems of work for self and all employees, and participate in training as needed for this purpose.
• Ensure a quality product by performing a final inspection for acceptable finish and assembly based on company guidelines and outside certifying agency (UL, VDE, etc…) requirements.
• Adjust all frame components to meet quality guidelines.
• Use proper packing material, documentation such as blueprints and packing diagrams, and equipment (hoists, staplers, and pallet jacks) to package the product and all components appropriately to ensure the customer receives a complete fixture free from damage.
• May assemble in the work area when not packing.
• Obtains necessary information and daily work schedule by referencing the computer system.
• Ensures an organized, clean, and safe workspace by understanding and applying the 6S guidelines.
• May be assigned to other areas within the organization as the need arises.
• Troubleshoot reasons behind missing parts and issues with manufactured and purchased parts.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Performance expectations are to be met during the probationary period.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and work instructions.

The expected hourly rate is $18.00-$20.00 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors allowed by law.
