Job summary

QPS Employment Group is assisting a Madison, WI-based manufacturer by filling a Packer position. This role involves inspecting and packing products to meet quality standards, applying case labels, and maintaining the proper sequence of cases on the line.

Shifts run day and night (6:00am–6:00pm; 6:00pm–6:00am) on a 2-2-3 rotation, with a path to hire. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work in warm conditions, and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak English to meet training, safety and quality requirements.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally (1-2 per shift).
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Basic math skills.
• Able to stand, bend, and reach for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and pack product to quality specifications and standards.
• Apply case labels and maintain proper numerical sequence of cases; use case taper to secure cases.
• Verify material for disposal and regrind; remove tubs of recycling material from the Operations floor.
• Follow dispatches and print work orders and labels.
• Process skid and hold tags.
• Actively participate in layered audits.
• Identify and communicate deviations or nonconforming product.
• Participate in safety programs and wear PPE per procedures.

Job description

Position Title: Packer Wage: $18.25 per hour Shift: Day, Night Hours: 6:00am-6:00pm; 6:00pm-6:00am (2-2-3 rotation) QPS Employment Group has a great Packer position at a company in Madison, WI. This is a day and night shift position with the opportunity for hire.

Packer Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Inspect and pack product to quality specifications and standards.
• Apply case labels and maintain proper numerical sequence of cases. Use case taper to secure cases.
• Verify material for disposal and regrind. Remove tubs of recycling material from the Operations floor.
• Follow dispatches and print work orders and labels.
• Process skid and hold tags.
• Actively participate in layered audits.
• Identify and communicate deviations or nonconforming product.
• Participate in safety programs, follow all established safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.

Packer Requirements:

• A Lift up to 10 lbs. continuously (cases of product and hand tools). Lift 11-30 lbs. regularly (3-4 times per shift). Lift 31-50 lbs. occasionally (1-2 lbs. per shift).
• Ability to work in warm environments.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, twist and stand for long periods of time.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read, write and speak English to meet training, safety and quality requirements.
• Basic math skills.
• Computer and software skills.
