Job summary

J&J Snack Foods is seeking a packer to assemble cartons, weigh checks, and wrap/box products for distribution in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You will stand for the shift, count items, and ensure correct packaging while adhering to food safety practices and GMPs.

Training is provided on the job, and cross-training may occur to cover multiple stations. This role emphasizes accuracy, manual dexterity, and teamwork in a heavy production environment; evenings and overtime may be required;

Responsibilities

• Assembles carton boxes by folding, bending, taping.
• Marks cartons according to product specifications.
• Picks up product and places in Containers.
• Packs trays through wrapping/taping machines.
• Inspects wrapped trays for proper sealing and boxing.
• Stacks boxes on pallets and rotates positions for cross-training.
• Observes food safety, GMPs and GDPs; reports safety or quality issues.

POSITION SUMMARY:** **

To pack the proper amount of product inappropriate containers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• The packer duties involve different workstations that include the following:
• Assemblescarton boxes by folding & bending &/or taping them into place.
• Marks carton boxes according to product specifications.
• Standsby conveyor belt and picks up productand places it inappropriatecontainer.
• Spot checksweightofproductor thatcorrectnumber ofproductis being placed incontainer.
• Picks up trays filled with correct amount of product and puts trays through the wrapping machine and/or taping machine.
• Inspects wrapped trays to make sure they are completely sealed.
• Picksup wrapped trays andplacesthem in carton boxes (cases).
• Stacksboxes (cases) on a pallet.
• Whenever possible, Packers are rotated tothe differentpositions to cross-train and for ergonomic reasons to prevent cumulative trauma injury.
• Report any food safety or quality problems to personnel with authority toinitiateaction.
• Follows J&JSnack Food’sFood Safety Plan (FSP), the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program, the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)and the Good Documentation Practices (GDPs).
• Followsall OSHA safety rules and all food safety laws and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

US Hourly Pay Range

$17.51—$17.51 USD
