Job Purpose

The Packer is responsible for producing high-quality powder products in the powder packaging department by following specifications listed in the work order.

Essential Duties

• Handle the startup and shutdown of the line and various equipment in the packaging line.
• Read and understand the work order and specifications to ensure correct components are used for production.
• Follow all SOPs and cGMP requirements.
• Load and unload components to various equipment in the packaging line.
• Assist in changeovers, washing, and sanitization of production lines.
• Learn the various equipment in the line to ensure proper use.
• Participate in all applicable safety and food safety training and wear proper personal protective equipment as needed.
• Palletize finished product.
• Spot check product to ensure proper labels, presentable packaging, and correct master case labels with relevant information.
• Maintain a clean workspace by assisting in housekeeping duties to minimize food safety risks.
• Able to lift 30 pounds repeatedly, 50 pounds frequently, and 75+ pounds with assistance daily.
• Use material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Education
