Job summary

Simplot is seeking a Packaging Trainer (Days) in Grand Forks, ND. The role focuses on ensuring understanding of all processing areas, training teams, and maintaining safety, quality and GMP standards.

Responsibilities include monitoring training levels, identifying SMEs, reviewing SOPs and training documents, and providing hands-on training when needed. A high school diploma and MS Office skills are required, with preference for prior training experience.

Qualifications

• Previous training experience is helpful.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in English to successfully complete job duties.
• Basic computer knowledge is required.
• Must be able to use MS Office products.

Responsibilities

• Provide limited hands-on training as required.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, plant procedures and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Maintain high standards for safety, quality, food safety, sanitation and GMPs.
• Follow safety rules to prevent injuries to self and others.
• Maintain effective communication with team members and support groups in a participative management style.
• Handle additional duties and accountabilities to meet operational standards.

The job is required to fully understand the purpose and operation of all processing areas on all lines.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor training level of overall teams within scope. Work with Training Specialist to develop training strategy for those teams.




• Help to identify Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on each team to aide in training efforts.




• Review training documents with employees to include safety documents, lock out tag out procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), standard work, etc.




• Provide limited hands-on training as required.




• Ensure self-compliance with Company policies and plant procedures, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.




• Maintain Company standards for safety, quality, food safety, sanitation and GMPs.




• Work within safety rules and regulations in actively avoiding injury to self and others.




• Maintain necessary level of communication with team members and other support groups and does so in a participative management style conducive with operational goals.




• Ensure that additional duties and accountabilities required by management are handled in a manner necessary to meet operational standards.
