Nestlé S.A. is seeking a Packaging Trainee for our King William, VA plant. You will safely operate packaging equipment, monitor lines, and lead basic troubleshooting.

The role requires staying on a night shift, 7pm–7am, with a rotating weekly schedule and every other weekend off. You will also ensure sanitation, maintain inventory data, and participate in risk assessments. The position emphasizes quality control, timely material handling, and safe work practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 6+ months of experience in a fast-paced and performance measured environment.

Responsabilités

  • Safely operate, monitor and problem solve throughout the packaging area.
  • Supply packaging materials and maintain sanitation to high standards as issues are identified.
  • Load and unload raw/packaging materials and finished goods.
  • Maintain accurate inventory data through proper data entry.
  • Perform Preventative Standard Routines including basic lubrication, repairs and inspection; identify defects for repairs.
  • Ensure products meet all quality standards by monitoring production parameters and testing.
  • Keeps area clean at all times and uses downtime to clean around equipment.

Position Summary

Since 1997, our factory has been a leading producer of the nation's cat litter supply. Located on Tidy Cat Road, our 40-acre plant site is seamlessly connected to a clay mine, enabling efficient mining, processing, packaging, and shipping. Operating around the clock, we mass produce conventional and clumping cat litter, supplying the mid-Atlantic region with nearly a third of a million tons annually. Our culture of continuous improvement drives Tidy Cats® product innovations, revolutionizing the cat litter category with LightWeight® litter, combining strength with half the weight. We’re also doing our part to care for the environment we share, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal. As a Packaging Trainee you safely and efficiently operate packaging equipment. You will monitor and operate equipment, lead troubleshooting and make adjustments to provide optimal equipment performance. Operators ensure the lines are continuously supplied with materials and store, stack, and load finished goods safely. This position will be responsible for reviewing and actively participating in risk assessments.

This position will work night shift (7pm-7am) on a rotating weekly schedule with every other weekend off.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 6+ months of experience in a fast-paced and performance measured environment

The approximate hourly pay for this position is $26.43. Please note that the pay provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
