Job summary

Argenta in Shawnee, KS is seeking an HR Generalist to provide broad HR support across all team members at the Shawnee KS location. You will resolve employee requests, advise leaders on day-to-day people matters, and use sound judgment to navigate moderately complex situations.

The ideal candidate is a versatile, proactive HR professional who builds trust through accurate, timely support and continuously looks for ways to improve how HR serves the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (packaging science, materials science, mechanical engineering or similar)
  • 5+ years of experience in packaging development and/or engineering
  • Knowledge of packaging materials, technologies and applications
  • Strong understanding of packaging machinery, materials functionality, and design software
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong ability to collaborate and build cross-functional partnerships

Responsibilities

  • Create prototype packaging and product displays based on project briefs and brand standards.
  • Run production trials and transport tests to evaluate package strength, shelf-life, and environmental stability.
  • Research eco-friendly materials and methods to reduce waste and lower production costs.
  • Work with internal design, manufacturing, and quality teams, as well as external suppliers.
  • Ensure all packaging meets regulatory safety standards and industry guidelines.
  • Support technical troubleshooting across the packaging supply chain and production environments.
  • Build strong relationships with strategic packaging suppliers to stay ahead of trends and capabilities.
