Job summary

System One is hiring a Packaging Technician for a 3-month temp assignment in Athens, GA. The role is on-site with an 2:30 pm–11 pm shift, Monday–Friday, offering $18.01–$19.28 per hour.

You will operate packaging equipment, inspect products, and ensure compliance with cGMP and SOPs. Candidates should have a HS diploma (Associate's preferred), 2–3 years of manufacturing experience, and strong attention to detail with good communication and basic math/computer skills.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
• 2–3 years manufacturing experience.
• Detail-oriented with effective communication and quality focus.
• Equipment/process troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging equipment (labelers, pick and place, heat tunnel, vision systems, forklift, etc.).
• Inspect product to meet quality guidelines.
• Change-over and set-up packaging lines.
• Troubleshoot packaging equipment issues.
• Maintain cGMP documentation and SOP compliance.
• Prepare QA line clearances and daily reporting.

Packaging Technician Responsibilities:

• Operate packaging equipment (e.g., labelers, pick and place, heat tunnel, vision systems, forklift, etc.)
• Inspect product accurately and efficiently to meet quality guidelines
• Perform equipment change-over and set-up
• Conduct initial troubleshooting for packaging equipment issues (e.g., Labelers, Pick and place, heat tunnel, etc.)
• Ensure that proper cGMP documentation is followed for completeness and adherence to procedures in a timely manner
• Read, understand, and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures
• Prepare QA Line clearances (e.g., Small volume line)
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Maintain facilities and equipment as required by Standard Operating Procedures
• Engage in cross-training within the department to meet business needs
• Communicate processing needs to co-workers
• Report progress several times daily to the shift line leader and/or Supervisor
• Report process events or issues immediately to shift line leader and/or Supervisor (escalation process)
• Communicate facility and inventory needs daily
• Monitor processes against manufacturing records, data capture forms, and SOPs
• Participate in Daily Performance Review (Team)
• Complete batch tickets with materials consumed during execution
• Provide feedback regarding feasibility of proposed improvements
• Follow defined process sequences

Requirements

• HS diploma; Associate's preferred or equivalent experience
• 2 to 3 years manufacturing experience
• Detail-oriented with effective communication skills and quality conscience
• Equipment/Process troubleshooting skills
• Ability to lift to 35 lbs
• Basic math and computer skills
• Preferred: 5+ years of related experience; Forklift certified
