An innovative company with proven experience in creating exciting new products that redefine what is possible in the food and beverage manufacturing industry.Position OpportunityWe are seeking a Packaging Technician with 1-3 years of experience in the Operations or Engineering/Maintenance sector. The ideal candidate will be able to operate machines related to packaging, troubleshoot the machine, and coordinate with other departments to help accomplish the packaging testing for new solutions.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesEngage in and inspect CQV (Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation) process and ensure that the new packaging is eligible for mass productionOperate machines related to packaging (e.g. tripack sleever, casepacker, crimper, …) during trials for new solutions and record the optimal configurationSummarize line observation data, assess whether tested products are qualified from Operations perspective using metrics including OEE, MTBF, …, and contribute to root cause analysisTroubleshoot the machines in the trial when machines are downCoordinate with Operations, R&D, Quality, or Sales to push forward packaging trials when neededReport on any issues or areas of improvement during line observationsDeal with ad-hoc requests from engineering/maintenance departmentEducation:High school diploma requiredRelated Experience:At least 1-3 years of experience in the Operations or Engineering/Maintenance sector required, internal applicants with a passion for packaging strongly encouragedKnowledge/Skills:Highly familiar with machine operations, especially packaging related onesBilingual in English and Spanish is a plusCapable of working flexible hours according to the needsDecent understanding of testing methods and evaluation metricsExcellent communication skills for working with cross-functional teamsKnowledge of packaging automation, machinery, and manufacturing processesStrong problem-solving and time management skillsWillingness and passion to learn new thingsAbility to work both independently and in a team-oriented environmentBasic Microsoft Office skills needed (Excel, Word, …)Travel Requirements:Travel between sites requiredPhysical Requirements:StandingWalkingSittingUse of hands, fingersReaching with hands and armsLiftingClimb and balanceStoop, kneel, crouch or crawlTalk and hearDistance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point)Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)Alamance Foods Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against persons because of age, race, color, creed, religion, disability, gender, ethnic or national origin, or veteran status.
