Job summary

ALPLA, a global leader in sustainable packaging, is seeking a Packaging Operator in Iowa City. The role supports packaging lines, coordinates material needs, and assists operators to ensure smooth workflows. You will participate in setup, labeling accuracy, and break scheduling while upholding safety standards.

The role emphasizes hands-on training, teamwork, and operational excellence in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Min. 6 months of Packaging Operator experience preferred.
• Some lead experience preferred.
• Good mechanical skill.
• Capable of lifting 25 pounds and standing for a minimum of 12 hours.
• Able to work with multiple types of equipment simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with Shift Supervisor the packaging needs on production equipment.
• Ensures all lines are adequately supplied with materials needed (foil, cartons, tray, etc.).
• Assists Packaging Operators to ensure a smooth workflow (setup and operate multiple packaging equipment types).
• Ensures labels match products in areas with manual labeling.
• Manage and assign break schedules for packers.
• Support troubleshooting and training initiatives for Packers.
• Audit packer standard work and completion; audit packer quality checks and completion.
