Job summary

ALPLA Group in Lima, OH is seeking a Packaging Operator to support packaging lines, ensure materials supply, and maintain safety standards. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of packaging experience, with some lead experience preferred.

You must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long shifts. Responsibilities include setup and operation of packaging equipment, coordinating with the shift supervisor, and training and auditing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Min. 6 months of Packaging Operator experience preferred.
• Some lead experience preferred.
• Good mechanical skill.
• Capable of lifting 25 pounds and standing for a minimum of 12 hours.
• Able to work with multiple types of equipment simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with Shift Supervisor the packaging needs on production equipment.
• Ensures all lines are adequately supplied with materials needed (foil, cartons, tray, etc.).
• Assists Packaging Operators as needed to ensure a smooth workflow.
• Setup and operate multiple packaging equipment types (carton erectors, partition inserters, product inserters, top closers, palletization).
• Ensures labels correctly match the product where manual labeling is required.
• Manage and assign break schedules for packers.
• Support troubleshooting and training initiatives for Packers.
• Audit packer standard work and completion; audit packer quality checks and completion.
