A leading company is seeking a Packaging Specialist responsible for downstream operations in St. Louis. This critical role involves equipment maintenance, compliance with FDA and GMP standards, and training of operators to ensure smooth operations. Your Role:
The Packaging Specialist will be responsible for downstream operations at the Dekalb, Ewing, and Cherokee St. Louis facilities. Responsibilities will include troubleshooting, monitoring, androutine minor maintenance of automated and semi-automated equipment. Utilizing expertiseto train and assist less experienced operators ensuring operations are consistent with currentoperating procedures.
Physical Attributes:
Stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
Lift and move up to 50 pounds with the assistance of equipment or teammates as necessary
Utilize proper personal protective equipment which could include, but is not limited to: respiratory protection (dust masks, half/full face respirators, supplied air, etc),MilliporeSigma issued work uniforms, and full body protection (disposable coveralls, hazmat suits, etc)
This is a 2nd shift position: Monday-Thursday 1:30pm-12:00am
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
1+ years experience withchemical weighing, laboratory, filling, or packaging experience
1+ years experience with automated fill lines or semi-automated filling equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years chemical packaging, manufacturing, or scientific/laboratory experience.
2+ yearsexperience in ISO/GMP regulated environment
Proficiencyin basic math-including metrics and conversions
Knowledge of safety rules, GMP, SOP’s, UOP’s.
Mechanical skills with ability to use pumps, electronic balances, and material handling equipment
Experience troubleshootingautomated packaging equipment
Strong written and communication skills
Effective problem-solving skills.
Experience training employees and working in a team setting
Ability to read and understand written protocols
Basic computer literacy (SAP, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Email, etc.)
Ability to operate hand tools, calculators and weighing / measuring devices
Possess a high degree of motivation and are a self-starter
Ability to multi-task while paying close attention to detail
