Job description

Come be a part of this rewarding opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative Tool and Die team where your contribution will impact one of the leading North American suppliers of automotive parts! Autokiniton provides value-driven, sustainable automotive components and assembly solutions for our customers.

This full-time hourly role is a part of our Tool and Die Team and reports to the Tool Room Supervisor. This position will allow the candidate to grow within a stable environment that’s building a better foundation for every vehicle on the road.

Shifts & Pay:

$34.02 per hour

1st shift – 7AM – 3:30PM

2nd shift - 3:30PM-12AM - $0.60/hr shift premium

3rd shift – 10:30PM - 7AM - $0.75/hr shift premium. Relocation is available for this role!

Responsibilities:
  1. Plan setup and operation of all types of machine shop tools, considering types of material, tolerances, types of cutting tools, coolants, lubricants and machine tool feeds and speeds.
  2. Weld repair and heat treatment of different materials including tool steels.
  3. Determine specifications for inspection of work, using precision measuring and gaging tools, performing required inspection before, during and after machining.
  4. Perform hand operations involved in producing jigs, fixtures, tools and dies.
  5. Fit and assemble jigs, fixtures, tools and dies. Sets up, runs off and tests dies to produce a product to specifications, tracing die difficulties to their source and correcting same.
  6. Tear down, repair and reassemble tooling on the bench or in the press as required.
Required Experience:
  1. Must have Journeyman Card OR 8 years of verifiable experience.
  2. Problem solving skills.
  3. Proven written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Metal stamping and manufacturing experience preferred.
