Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Commodity Manager–Packaging to lead sourcing strategies for packaging materials like corrugated, films, labels, and cartons. You will collaborate with NPD, Quality, and Operations to ensure packaging meets food safety, quality, and performance requirements.

The role emphasizes cost competitiveness, supply continuity, risk management, and supplier performance through KPIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• +7 years of experience in food manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of procurement strategy and execution and supplier management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies for packaging materials.
• Lead supplier negotiations and contracting processes.
• Monitor packaging market trends, cost drivers, and regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with NPD, Quality, and Operations to ensure packaging compliance.
• Manage supplier performance through KPIs and scorecards.
• Optimize supply chain lead times and inventory planning.
• Develop category plans aligned with business strategy.
• Provide insight-based analysis of organizational needs and supplier markets.
• Support S&OP and budgeting with procurement cost inputs.
• Maintain reporting and documentation for sourcing activities and compliance.
• Ensure pricing accuracy; manage vendor claims and price variances.
• Build strategic supplier relationships for reliability and value.
• Collaborate with production to ensure food safety and quality.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
