Job summary

Carpenter Co. in Altoona, PA is seeking a first shift Material Handler to maintain an orderly flow of raw materials and finished goods on the Consumer Products line. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, basic reading/writing/math, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

You will work with supervisors and operators to meet production and shipping schedules in a safety-focused, team environment. Carpenter Co.

High school diploma or GED required.
Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, continuous environment with attention to detail.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others.

Responsibilities

Receive finished product at end of line and place in final packaging.
Inspect finished goods prior to packaging and report defects or flaws and ensure correction before packing.
Zip and/or bag product.
Place correct stickers/inserts in or on boxes.
Safely and efficiently operate line equipment.
Fold and construct cardboard boxes.
Label and box packaged product and place on porta-racks or cube for shipping.
Read route slips and daily schedules.
Complete all required paperwork correctly and accurately.
