Job summary

Geater Machining and Manufacturing, Co. is seeking a Packaging Shipping Control professional to verify and record outgoing shipments, prepare items for shipment, and manage related documentation.

You will weigh and measure items, determine packaging, affix labels, assemble containers, and ensure accuracy with the GOLD system, while maintaining inventory and safeguarding product integrity per specifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Preferred: Six months to one year related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Verify information on outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Determine method of packaging and shipping.
• Affix shipping labels on packed cartons and stamps identifying information on cartons.
• Assemble cardboard containers or select pre-assembled container.
• Insert items into containers and packs with suitable packing material to prevent handling damage during shipment or storage.
• Post weights and shipping charges if necessary on paperwork.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Prepare product for shipment/storage by wrapping, bagging, tagging, or binding according to product specification.
• Consistently use GOLD (Geater Operations Linking Database) for accurate work instructions.
