Job summary

Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a Packaging Lead to oversee packaging operations for parenteral products, ensuring GMP compliance and timely production in a fast-paced environment.

You will coordinate with QA, Finishing, and other departments, train staff, manage supplies, and document batch records while supporting continuous quality and safety improvements. This is an on-site, full-time role with competitive pay and day-one benefits.

Overview of this Position:

General purpose of this position. Oversee the execution of tasks while leading Labeling and Packaging areas. Achieve goals set by Packaging Supervisor and Area Management. Coordinate applicable training tasks with Finishing Trainer, Quality Assurance, and Supervisors to meet all guidelines of established procedures and cGMP regulations.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

• 1 or more years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical or FDA regulated industry with a thorough understanding of CFR, cGMP, FDA guidelines and multinational regulatory standards.
• Available for off-shift, weekend, and/or on-call work, as needed.
• Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Preferred Requirements

• Associate’s degree in life sciences or equivalent training and/or experience.
• Previous experience as a line lead or other leadership equivalent role.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Lead all packaging activities for small and/or large volume parenteral liquid drug products.
• Effectively coordinate activities by communicating with other operational departments.
• Ensure adequate levels of operating supplies to meet production needs.
• Train staff on good safety practices and enforce all safety regulations.
• Write and/or revise departmental procedures and batch records as needed for the packaging department.
• Perform necessary QAD functions to support the needs of the department.
• Assist with training employees in packaging departmental procedures, general Finishing procedures and cGMPs.
• Practice good housekeeping techniques.
• Accurately document data and complete batch record reviews as needed.
• Assist in the scheduling and performance of routine maintenance and calibration of production equipment.
• Participate in client communications, including problem solving, schedule development, and project status updates.
• Assist with disciplinary actions for poor performance or conduct of direct reports, as necessary.
• Assist with goal setting and attainment for department and direct reports.
• Foster a positive team environment that promotes productivity and employee satisfaction.
• Actively participate in Continuous Quality and Safety Improvements.

• Support Agency, customer and vendor audits as needed.
