Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Smyrna, GA seeks a Project Manager I to define goals and scope for high-speed packaging and automation projects. You will craft detailed plans, coordinate timelines and resources, and ensure on-time delivery to specifications.

Travel up to 25% may be required as projects progress across teams. You will lead with strong organizational and communication skills, interfacing with engineering, sales, supply chain and manufacturing to drive successful outcomes while solving issues

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 0-2 years of experience.
• Experience leading projects or process improvements.
• Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Role based in Smyrna, Georgia.
• Up to 25% domestic/international travel, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Define project goals, objectives and scope for new high-speed packaging and automation machinery.
• Create project plans with tasks, timelines and resources.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications.
• Facilitate communication between stakeholders including engineering, sales, supply chain and manufacturing.
• Define scope, objectives and timing with management and external stakeholders.
• Predict resources and coordinate with functional managers for availability.
• Track and report project progress and resolve issues as they arise.
• Facilitate change requests and communicate impacts on schedule and budget.
