Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Illinois seeks an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead production operations, drive continuous improvement, and ensure on-time delivery of quality products. You will oversee production planning, equipment performance, and safety initiatives to meet customer expectations.

The role demands 3–5 years of manufacturing management, 7–10 years overall manufacturing experience (preferably in printing), and a degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or equivalent

Qualifications

• Associates degree in related field or equivalent work experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering preferred.
• 3–5 years of manufacturing management experience.
• 7–10 years of manufacturing experience, preferably with at least 5 years in the printing industry.
• Strong math and measurement skills to understand, track, analyze, and report on operating metrics.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and leadership in the assigned departments to ensure timely production of quality products.
• Proactively manage metrics affecting cost (downtime, run speed, waste) and ensure compliance with SOPs and GMPs.
• Foster a safe, productive team environment with active safety leadership and coaching.
• Develop and manage capacity, maintenance status, and capital projects.
