Job summary

WestRock Company is seeking a Production Manager to lead day-to-day operations of the converting department, ensuring safety adherence, efficient production, and alignment with customer requirements. You will guide the management team, oversee personnel, maintenance, and project timelines while coaching direct reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 7+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• 7+ years of leadership experience in corrugated packaging operations.
• Demonstrated mechanical acumen.
• Proven experience using scheduling software.
• Ability to work in fast-paced JIT manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in process management for production efficiency.
• Lean processes deployment with urgency (Six Sigma preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership coordinating plant activities to meet manufacturing objectives in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Review customer requirements and specifications to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions to increase satisfaction.
• Coordinate and maintain safety plans to ensure program adoption and implementation.
• Propose ideas to support department goals and continuous improvement, customer retention, profitability, and employee satisfaction.
• Develop and manage communication channels across stakeholders to build relationships and produce quality products.
• Manage P&L, manufacturing costs and operating efficiencies to improve plant profitability.
• Monitor waste management to control costs and reduce environmental impacts.
