Responsibilities

  • Support the production of all products by organizing and facilitating the flow of packaged materials into, within and out of the plant.
  • Off-load incoming packaged materials and load finished packaged product onto an outside carrier’s vehicle.
  • Housekeeping, inspection and organization of plant storage areas.
  • Preparation of all required shipping paperwork.
  • Inspection of delivery paperwork.
  • Final inspection and verification of orders leaving the facility.
  • Ensure product being shipped is packaged properly and adequately for safe transportation and that FIFO inventory practice is followed unless specific instruction not to, documented.
  • Inspect outgoing goods to ensure labeling is accurate and complete; containers are clean; bungs tightened; forklift operations to move materials.
  • Palletize or stage orders; ensure storage of raw materials and finished goods is organized and labeled.
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory; rotate stock for FIFO; maintain warehouse organization.
  • Package off tankers into drums or totes.
  • Ensure safe unloading of bulk, vans, and trailers for shipments; accuracy of shipping documents in SAP.

JOB SUMMARY

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the production of all products by organizing and facilitating the flow of packaged materials into, within and out of the plant.

Loading/Unloading Package Goods & Bulk Offloading – 40%
  • Off‑load incoming packaged materials and load finished packaged product onto an outside carrier’s vehicle
  • Housekeeping, inspection and organization of plant storage areas
  • Preparation of all required shipping paperwork
  • Inspection of delivery paperwork
  • Final inspection and verification of orders leaving the facility
  • Any other duties as directed by site leadership
  • Ensure product being shipped is packaged properly and adequately for safe transportation and that FIFO inventory practice is followed unless specific instruction not to, documented
  • Inspect outgoing goods to ensure:
    • Labeling is accurate and complete
    • Containers are clean and show no indication of leaks
    • Bungs are tightened to the correct torque
    • Operates forklift to off‑load drums, pallets, raw material, supply or finished goods from incoming van (box) trailer or container and delivers them to appropriate destination within the plant
Warehouse Material Handling – 30%
  • Palletize or stage orders scheduled for shipping, ensuring correct count and that all finished goods are within their shelf life
  • Ensure all non‑AA material is stored in the designated quarantine area
  • Ensure storage of raw materials and finished goods is organized and labeled
  • Assist with periodic cycle counts and planned facility‑wide physical inventory
  • Segregate aged and rework inventory from saleable finished goods to ensure compliance with plant procedures
  • Maintain overall organization and housekeeping of warehouses and storage pads in conjunction with other production personnel
  • Rotate stock to ensure materials are handled on a first‑in, first‑out basis
  • Operate forklift to rearrange goods/materials
Latex Packaging – 10%
  • Package off tankers into drums or totes
Shipping Documentation/SAP – 10%
  • Ensure accurate documentation and safe unloading of all bulk, vans, and trailers for LTL, TL, UPS and Air shipments
  • Ensure all feedback, bills of lading and COAs printed through SAP are accurate and that all shipments meet all pertinent State and Federal regulatory requirements
  • Inspect and approve delivery paperwork per plant procedure
  • Ensure all outgoing orders meet DOT standards for the shipment of hazardous materials
  • Assemble and ensure the accuracy/completeness of all shipping paperwork
Other Duties – 10%
  • Responsible for timely shipments of quality product to the customer
  • Consolidate and organize to facilitate the flow of materials
  • Patrol work area to detect leaks and equipment malfunctions, and monitor operating conditions
CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

This position will be based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

  • Support site HES policy and comply with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participate in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Support and promote the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near‑miss, accident or injury incidents
  • Report incidents or accidents to the direct supervisor and actively participate in root‑cause investigation, potentially leading, depending on complexity, with tools like 5W2H‑5Why
  • Participate actively in daily SMART Tier 1 and Tier 2 meetings; facilitate Tier 1 meetings as needed
REQUIRED EDUCATION

Accredited high school diploma or equivalent required.
