Job summary

Athletic Brewing Company in San Diego is seeking a Packaging Operator I to support both can and keg packaging lines. You will follow SOPs, set up stations, handle date changes, and help keep a clean, safe production area.

We value reliability, initiative, and teamwork, with forklift experience and basic computer skills considered a plus. Competitive pay and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills: Word, Excel; NetSuite a plus.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 55 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Package product into cans or kegs following SOPs.
  • Operate and monitor packaging line equipment; start/stop, setup, date code changes.
  • Shadow Operator and assist forklift operations as needed.
  • Collect pallet tags and maintain daily logs for packaging activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following OSHA and GMPs.
  • Record daily packaging data and assist with CIP, downtime, and related duties.
  • Communicate status of packaging to management and team.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

We actively seek representation from diverse backgrounds and experiences and are committed to building a team that reflects the communities we serve.Job Responsibilities:Basic ability to package product into cans or kegs following all standard operating procedures, while also being able to complete production adjustments based on the changing needs of the business.Able to master basic operations of each machine station including starting and stopping machines, station setup, how to change a date code, proper placement of trays, where to put glue in, and packaging into machinery.Monitor basic operations of packaging line machinery by shadowing Operator 2+Able to be trained to perform basic forklift operationsCommunicate with management and other packaging team members on the status of packaging.Collect and submit pallet tags for cans, lids, and other packaging materials.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following OSHA and GMPs.Familiarize with product and attend sensory pannels/off flavor training.Basic ability to navigate Netsuite - builds pallet. print pallet tags, etc.Fills out daily packaging forms to update daily logs for CIPs, Cleaning, Downtime, etc.Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.Desired Experience/ TraitsWho You Are:Personal curiosity in improving skills.Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, listening, critical thinking, verbal and written communication skills.Honest, Dependable, high integrity, team player, and passionate.Skills and Experience:Previous manufacturing experience a plus.Previous forklift experience preferred.Basic computer skills - Word, Excel, email, NetSuite a plus.High school diploma or GED required.Job Details:Location: San Diego, CASchedule: Monday - Friday - 1st or 2nd shift, subject to changeSalary: Commensurate with experience - Base salary and opportunities for performance bonuses.
