Job summary

Covia is seeking a dynamic Bagger to join the Operations team at our Elco, IL site. The Bagger will oversee packaging operations, keep the bagging system fed, monitor weights, and assist maintenance as needed, ensuring safe, efficient production.

With a high school diploma and 2–3 years of experience, you will follow safety procedures, complete paperwork, and contribute to continuous improvement while maintaining housekeeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2-3 years of experience in a similar role or plant environment.
• Safety-aware and detail-oriented.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Demonstrated teamwork and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Operate the paper bagging system and keep the system fed with empty bags and pallets.
• Monitor the stretch wrapping system and ensure supplies are available.
• Sample finished products per quality control procedures.
• Monitor bag weights and adjust as needed.
• Assist with plant maintenance and maintain plant housekeeping.
• Backfill other operator positions as needed and support safety practices.
