Blount Fine Foods is seeking a Packaging Operator I for their McKinney, Texas facility. The role involves operating packaging equipment, maintaining quality standards, and tracking performance metrics. Ideal candidates should have a high school diploma, good communication skills, and the physical ability to perform tasks related to the job. Summary:
The Packaging Operator I is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient operation of packaging equipment in the Bag/Cup product division. In the event of absence, the position will be filled by adequately trained personnel.
Shift: 2nd Shift - 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Safely and effectively operate packaging equipment in the area.
- Maintain processing flow to meet target operational efficiency.
- Assist in training departmental staff as needed.
- Track, review, and communicate departmental KPIs related to Safety, Quality, Productivity, waste, yield, and Equipment performance, striving to meet and exceed targets daily.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues; work with Maintenance to ensure high equipment reliability through inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Complete basic care inspection routes daily.
- Properly start up and shut down equipment.
- Communicate effectively within the department to ensure efficient operations.
- Learn, operate, and adjust multiple packaging equipment and processes.
- Verify labels and perform line clearance between batches as needed.
- Complete all paperwork accurately and honestly, adhering to GMPs, SOPs, and Food Safety policies.
- Report suspicious packages, activities, and individuals.
- If monitoring CCPs, be trained in HACCP and follow approved plans.
- Adhere to all recipe designs and SOPs without deviations.
- Run, adjust, breakdown, and reassemble packaging equipment as trained.
- Minimize downtime and contribute to proactive solutions for obstructions.
- Update supervisors on efficiencies and issues; offer recommendations.
- Use inventory tracking systems accurately; manage line product on hold or waste.
- Manage line downtime and equipment issues responsibly.

Qualifications:
- High School or technical diploma, or 3-6 months related experience.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Basic math and computer skills, including HMI familiarity.
- Ability to apply common sense and deal with multiple variables.
- Valid driver’s license and clean Motor Vehicle Record.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
- Work in environments with moving parts, cold, humid, or chemical exposure, with moderate noise levels.
